What is the price of the Macarons??
Fantastic French pastries and coffee. Great service.
Amazing macaroons! Definitely recommend the pistachio flavor.
Never been to a more rude restaurant. My wife and I went there to get a capachinos. Sat down at bar waited 5 minutes for someone to come and take are order. Never happened wait staff just ignored us completely and when we said something they still ignored us.
MoreLa Maison Navarre is such a fabulous French restaurant! (owned by a French couple) They have a tasty selection of salads, crepes, and other food. Their macrons are a must have! You will see them when you walk in, and will regret if you leave without sinking your teeth into one of the many colorful ones they have on display. Service is good! Atmosphere is classic!
MoreSuch a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. All of the food was fresh and delicious and the desserts were to die for. I can't wait to go back and bring friends.
MoreStopped to get the beautiful macaroons and was pleased to find that they were delicious as well! Will definitely go back!
MoreLike eating in a small Cafe in Paris! Wonderful food and service. Out of the way spot that's worth finding before a Music Hall event. Eat upstairs.
MoreThe variety of waffles and crepes entrees with an international twist is great! The bakery and choices for tea or coffee satisfies a consumer looking for take-away items. Unique and inviting place with friendly staff.
MoreWaited 20 minutes for a burnt croissant. Very disappointing.
Love this place. Such a cute little cafe and their staff is so friendly. They have delicious macaron and pastries, and great lunch specials
MoreWe have had the macaroons many times (always amazing), but finally made it upstairs to the wine bar for charcuterie. Hands down the best service we have had in a restaurant in a long time. Joe went above and beyond and her enthusiasm towards cheese can’t be beat! Highly recommend. We also were presented an amuse bouche, which I haven’t seen in years. Very nice touch.
MoreSome of the best pastries ever.
This is my favorite French cafe and part of the reasons I visited Portsmouth, NH the second time. It sent me to France the moment I stepped into this cafe. Cabinets full of macaroon with pastel rainbow colors, beautiful pastries, and aroma of coffee welcome guests all at the same time. This place has cozy ambiance and comfortable seating. We ordered affagato (Expresso with ice cream), latte, and some pastries. Love the Paris Brest, a puff pastry with smooth hazelnut cream filling and roasted almond. Black raspberry ice cream macaroon is additive! One of the best macaroon I ever tasted. Crepe looks good. Will come back to try it.
MoreI love La Maison Navarre for the macaroons and coffee! If you’re like me and you want to feel like you’re in France again, drinking coffee and eating macaroons this is the place ❤️
MoreLoved this pastry shop! My husband and I went here on our honeymoon for a crepe breakfast and we're so glad we did! The crepes were delicious! We also got some macarons to go, and those were delectable as well!
MoreNot a lot of selection on the menu but everything is delicious. Some of the best macarons I've ever had.
MoreHad 6 macarons and the cider. The staff were quite nice and i liked the feel of the store. Good variety of macaron flavors to choose from.
MoreVery good food and true to expectation. Price point may be above some people's budget. Would definitely be considered a splurge for someone like a college student.
MoreFabulous French bistro in downtown Portsmouth. It is a cosy restaurant with an European feel. Café tables and french music add to the ambiance. We started our Sunday brunch with mimosas. Then had a duck confit on waffles with a poached egg and real maple syrup. The lightly dressed arugula salad rounded out the meal. The scrambled egg and bacon on top of a baguette was so expertly prepared that we ate it in no time. We finished off the meal with a chocolate cake with a raspberry coulis. What a way to start the day! This cafe has pastries and macaroons to go, and a cafe where light sandwiches and crepes can be ordered. Upstairs in the back is a wine bar that serves French wines, cheeses, and meats. The wine bar is where the weekend brunch is served. We selected a fruit.tart and a cherry chocolate mousse from the pastry display for home, and these were fresh, light, and delicious! We'll definitely be back!
MoreGrab a macaroon (or two) a cup of coffee and walk around Portsmouth! Lovely pastries to look at and eat!
MoreEverything here exceeds expectations. Every pastry I've ever had was amazing.
Best macarons I can find within an hour of Boston. The strawberries and creme crepe blew me away. This place is worth a drive, for sure.
MoreI've stopped in for macrons a dozen times but I honestly was skipping the gem of the regular teas and pastries. Delightful full leaf teas and brilliant baking make this place a go to.
MoreExcellent food, light and airy if a bit noisy. I had Provencal quiche with salad, my wife had a crepe and a mini lemon merengue eclair. My desert chocolate Madeline was properly just barely sweet. Staff was friendly and patient.
MoreFantastic chocolate French pastries and wonder coffee
One of my very favorite restaurants ever. So authentic and lovely, feels like you're back in France. Beautiful down to the last detail, and the food is exquisitely delicious. I recommend it to anybody I'm able.
MoreThe macaroons, fresh baguettes, imported bottles of delicious, and crepes are amazing. The decor is delightful. It is a refreshing stop for lunch, tea, or a quick snack. They accommodated a dairy allergy.
MoreLovely meal and evening. Great food and outstanding service.
Delightful ambiance, French cuisine, and exquisite pastries.
Love Maison Navarre! I used to live in Paris (and actually attended the same university a few years before one of the owners) and this is the closest thing to France I’ve found in the States! They even sometimes carry my favorite candy, Haribo Tagada 🤤😍 This is the perfect place for a business or casual lunch, an evening date, or just to stop by to grab some of the best macarons north of NYC.
MoreThe experience was genuine in the French sense. They provided tap water at room temperature so it was odd no ice cubes were provided. The service was incredibly slow. However, the quality of the food outweighed that of the services. The French Onion soup was good as well was the fresh salad and quiche. Prices little steep but that's expected in New England.
MoreWe stopped here for brunch for my daughter's birthday. The food is great. The staff is polite and respectful. The only reason they are not getting full stars is the tables are just to small for the amount they have seated at them. Tables they have three seatings at should really be for two. Otherwise a great experience.
MoreThey don't use Doordash. I'd been sent there for an order. Disappointing on a few levels.
MoreThe food here is fantastic! And so is the coffee. We had build your own breakfast croissants and a crepe. If you’re in Portsmouth for breakfast you should stop by to try it! The macarons are amazing too.
MoreCozy, parisian, upscale. I dare you to try one of those lemon macarons and not want to roll over and die happy. Staff are friendly and quick. Great place for meetup, casual-ish but impressive date, or if you just need something indulgent because you do you. Price is high-ish, but this is Congress St. in Portsmouth-- and it's worth it. They taste so good.
MoreExcellent — What a fun and refreshing find... Look forward to the next time we’re in town to swing by. How I miss Paris, and how nicely this reminds me of it.
MoreI've had the macaroons here often they are delicious! Today I went in for the first time to get food and was not disappointed. It was well put together and very delicious. I will be going back. I split the French onion soup and the Italian sub.
MoreHighly recommend. Their food is delicious. Both in person and over the phone they are super helpful and kind (thanks again to Megan for being so patient during my phone order).
MoreI always stop by when I am in Portsmouth. There have been times I drive from Boston only to have a cup of coffee and take home macarons. I highly recommend this cafe For all bakery lovers. Haven’t tried the upstairs bar ever. Will check in someday. But during these quarantine days I have been thinking about the macarons and pasties for sure. Hope to visit soon.
MoreStopped by this place a couple of weeks ago while visiting family and only had the sugar lemon crepe since we had already gotten a bite to eat before-hand, but it was delicious. Of course, I managed to steal bites of my family's savory crepes and sips of their coffees. Also delicious. When I got in line, my partner went to sit down since we were going to split. Then, when I ordered, the man at the front slid me two sets of silverware, "for my friend." Thought the attention to detail was sweet.
MoreThis bakery/cafe may be a bit on the pricier side, but damn is it worth it. The two macarons in the picture are hazelnut and coffee and they were both fantastic. I cannot wait to go back.
MoreAmazing quiche and bonus side salad. Don’t forget to pick up some gorgeous desserts to take home.
MoreAmazing Parisian bakery nestled in downtown Portsmouth. Instantly transports you to France, and the crepes? To DIE for!
MoreGreat pastries, LOVE the macaroons. A little pricey, but it’s a nice treat.
A taste of Europe in New England. Pleasant cafe with its unique atmosphere. It is known for its unique pastries. Friendly and professional staff. Whenever we are in in Portsmouth we always stop by. Be ready for premium pricing.
MoreNice little spot right downtown. Went later in the evening to experience the wine bar and crepes. The wine selection was great but the crepe was just okay. The wine bar portion of the building is very small but had a neat layout next to a small kitchen overlooking the rest of the establishment. Overall I would return.
MoreStopped by at La Maison Navarre to buy macarons. I picked 3 flavors (blackberry, pistachio, salted caramel). The macarons are quite nice (a bit pricey to me). The staff was helpful and very quick. Maybe next time i'll sit and have some coffee & cake here. Nice place love it!
MoreExpensive but pretty good. Very well put together place.
Make sure to visit every time we're in Portsmouth. I've never had a dessert that wasn't fantastic (and we've had a few!) Love their macarons as well!
MoreThe pastries are delicious but I ordered 30 small pastries for friends baby shower. I didn’t check the box when I picked them up but I should have. I was extremely careful with the boxes on the way home and when I open the boxes the pastries were all over the place. I wish I could post a picture but I don’t think that’s possible. They are pretty much ruined. They really should have a better way of packaging these pastries. Also 2 of the pastries were supposed to have chocolate and vanilla chocolate shavings on them and they don’t. I’m pretty disappointed 😔
